Computational Design and Automated Fabrication of Kirchhoff-Plateau Surfaces

Abstract

We present a computational pipeline for the design and fabrication of Kirchhoff-Plateau surfaces -- thin elastic rods bent into shape by soap film tension -- enabling new classes of self-supporting curved structures.
